Flow2Flow - Network operations for multiple locations
The basic component for a MAM system is Flow2Flow, a full featured connection between two Flow Center Core systems to exchange media, metadata, AI, transcodings, schedulings and all production and post-production informations to establish a fully structured workflow process over several locations with interactions from many users.
Flow2Flow offers a flexible and “lightweight” option to so called traditional Media Asset Management systems that are comparably not only requiring a substantially higher investment but also high administrative efforts, large hardware and big network connections that most often are not scalable or easy to integrate into existing systems.
With Flow2Flow it is easy to plan around existing systems including hardware scoping, defining users and groups as well as quantifying the amount of content and storage. The “lightweightness” of the system comes from its modular structure which is highly scalable. In addition, it is a decentralized system which allows its users to connect different offices or locations effortlessly compared to a centralized system architecture.
THE OUTSTANDING BENEFITS OF A FLOW2FLOW SYSTEM ARE:
- modular and highly scalable decentralized media asset management
- heterogenous content spread over more archives, but at hand when you need it
- easy planning and rapid setup
- single point of failure outage does not affect the whole system
- faster transaction of media and metadata
- operates with existing IT-environment
- sophisticated security features
- integrated workflow engine across all systems
- modular pricing; pay for what you need and not what needs to be planned
- small mobile and temporary units with Flow Ant systems
To make the Flow2Flow component more versatile and flexible, the external Flow Core systems can be installed on micro servers, the so called Flow Ants.
